A 65 year old patient has recently had a blood test which indicate hepatic toxicity. Which TWO of the following drugs are the most likely be associated with this?
- Ibuprofen
- Leflunomide
- Perindopril
- Paracetamol
Common ADRs
From the BNF you can see that leflunomide can cause potentially life threatening hepatotoxicity, usually in the first 6 months, which is why monitoring the liver function is essential. In liver dysfunction, monitoring is also required when taking perindopril.
