The 5Ws - who, what, when, where, why
Who will be using the e-learning, when and where?
Why will e-learning be used?
An understanding about who the learner is and the purpose of e-learning creates a firm and accurate basis on which to develop e-learning material. Knowing the learner is a crucial aspect of learner-centred design i.e. a design that focuses on and is suited to the learner. A designer is more likely to produce usable e-learning materials if the learner is considered. Understanding of where e-learning will take place is also important, and whether the slowest/least efficient broadband connections can support e-learning if required. | ![]() |
