Testing for usability - Questionnaires and structured Interviews
We have considered the key aspects of usability and a template we can follow to design usable e-learning. Next let's consider how to test for usability.
Usability testing is the testing or evaluation of something, in this case e-learning, for usability. It is a continuous process that takes place whilst something is being developed/designed (formative testing) and once it is finished and ready for use (summative testing). Testing gives the designer an opportunity to think critically about their work; feedback is also obtained from the learner, the user of e-learning. Errors/problems should be identified from testing; changes can then be made to improve the usability of e-learning. |
