ANALYSE

The student analyses the differential diagnosis by comparing and contrasting the possibilities. This analysis should be presented to the teacher and each point justified by consideration of:

      • Underlying anatomy or physiology e.g. site or type of pain
      • Possible pathological processes e.g. inflammation or cancer
      • Most likely diagnosis
      • Most important or serious diagnosis that must be excluded e.g. myocardial infarction with acute chest pain
