Using reflection in practice

Getting started with reflection can be difficult for learners so it is advisable to provide guidance on what to consider. There are many ways for students to reflect on their experiences, with their peers in discussion, through art and storytelling or more commonly through reflective writing.

Here is an example of a basic reflective writing aid:

What happened?

How did this effect the people involved?

Why did you do what you did?

How did you feel about it?

What was the outcome?

What have you learnt?

What would you do differently next time?
