Learnability

Is the learner competent at using the e-learning?

Is help and documentation available to support learners?

Learnability relates to the learner's competency at using e-learning material to gain knowledge. Learnability may be evaluated by assessing how easily and efficiently basic tasks are successfully completed. Unfamiliarity with the choice of software/media (see 'The learner and context' section) and/or e-learning design may affect learnability, with implications for the effectiveness and efficiency of learning. Indeed help and documentation can be useful to learners. Whilst the learner may encounter difficulties the first time they use e-learning, competency should quickly improve with use if e-learning has high learnability and therefore usability.
