Navigation
What is the format/structure of the e-learning content?
How does the learner work/navigate through the e-learning?
Remember that e-learning may expose learners to topics for the first time. E-learning should be logically structured, and design features should guide learners through the material. For example, clicking on arrows or the word 'Next' superimposed on a button could be a simple way for the learner to navigate e-learning. E-learning should also offer flexibility; learners should be able to choose and locate topics they wish to learn as if flicking through pages of a textbook. Without this freedom, frustration might result, particularly if learners revisit e-learning at a later date to study a specific topic. Ease of navigation may therefore have important implications for usability. |
