• Shock is a serious condition, which can rapidly lead to multi organ disorder including acute kidney injury, coma or death.
• If the cardinal signs of shock are recognised early it is potentially treatable.
• Assertive early fluid resuscitation and high flow oxygen are essential.
• If sepsis is suspected use the ‘sepsis six’ tool.
• Early senior help is recommended.
