Top 5 Tips:

  1. Be prepared by having information up front - maps, parking, fee, 'get out clause', clear signage, refreshments/base room/rest area etc.

  2. Named link who can be contacted at any point
  3. Provide training for all sessions. Briefing - address patient/carer expectations: Q&A, a clear explanation of learning outcomes for the learner, who the audience are, setting. Debriefing session afterwards 

  4. Lots of positive feedback where it's due, to increase confidence, with analysis as to why
  5. Peer appraisal - where possible, patients to observe each other's work and learn from it
